Mayoral Bursary Fund 2024: Fields Covered
The Mayoral Bursary Fund invites students residing within the Knysna Municipal District to apply for bursaries for the 2024 academic year. The focus is on scarce skills areas, particularly Engineering and Science.
Expenses Covered & Selection Criteria: The bursary covers essential expenses such as registration fees, partial tuition fees, book allowances, examination fees, and accommodation (if justified). Awards are disbursed directly to tertiary institutions. Selection is based on a combination of merit and financial need.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- South African citizenship.
- Residency within the Greater Knysna Municipal Area in the Western Cape.
- Current Matric status (in 2023) or completed Matric.
- Full-time pursuit of a qualification in a scarce skills sector in 2024.
- Enrollment or intention to enroll at a SAQA accredited tertiary or TVET institution in South Africa.
- Preference given to students in financial need from historically disadvantaged communities.
