Athlone Institute Bursary Project Fund (AIBPROF) offers bursary programme towards further studies in 2024 / 2025 for South African students.

The Athlone Institute Trust invites eligible South African citizens residing in the Paarl or Mbekweni area (Western Cape) or parishioners at any of the 5 members churches of the Athlone Institute Trust to apply for their bursaries. Bursaries are available for undergraduate or postgraduate studies in ANY field.

Bursary Coverage:

The bursary will cover a portion of registration fees and tuition fees. The total value will be determined by the Athlone Institute Trust (AIT).

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. South African citizen (by birth).
  2. Permanent resident of Paarl or Mbekweni, Western Cape (or parishioner of one of the five member churches of the Athlone Institute Trust).
  3. Member of one of the member churches of the AIT or a member of any bona-fide denomination/religious institution in Paarl or Mbekweni.
  4. Completed Matric.
  5. Financial need.
  6. Enrolled to study towards an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification, full-time or part-time, for the 2024 academic year.
  7. Enrolled to study at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution (TVET College/University/University of Technology).
  8. Passed the previous year of study if currently studying.
  9. Willing to take part in community service within the Paarl/Mbekweni area.
  10. Willing to take part in the mentoring program.

How to Apply:

  1. Collect bursary application forms at member churches, Drakenstein Pharmacy (55 Jan Van Riebeeck Dr, Denneburg, Paarl), or New Orleans High School (6 Suikerbos Ave, Charleston Hill, Paarl).
  2. Submit clear copies of the following documents along with the completed application form:
    • ID document (certified copy).
    • Matric certificate (certified copy).
    • Full academic record if currently studying (certified copy).
    • Proof of registration at the tertiary institution (certified copy).
    • Proof of registration fee payment.
    • Proof of residence.
    • Parents or guardians proof of income (latest payslips if employed, affidavits if unemployed).
    • Official testimonial from your Religious Leader.
  3. Deliver the completed application forms and supporting documents to: Drakenstein Pharmacy 55 Jan Van Riebeeck Drive Denneburg Paarl 7646

Operating hours: Monday to Friday – 08:30 to 17:30, Saturday – 08:30 to 13:30 (closed on Sunday).
